A 28-year old man who was severely injured in a car crash received CPR. The man is in a serious condition after being trapped underneath a vehicle that crashed into a water-filled ditch.
Deadly crash
Just before 1 AM, the RCMP were called to Dogwood Avenue near 232nd Street in Maple Ridge. A vehicle had driven into a water-filled ditch, trapping the man underneath the vehicle.
According to the police, the man remained trapped until the firefighters were able to utilize airbags to lift the car and rescue him. The paramedics were later seen performing CPR inside the ambulance.
The root cause of the crash is not yet clear and an investigation is still ongoing. The driver of the car, a 29-year old Maple Ridge man and a female passenger were not seriously injured in the accident.
This case is the second crash involving a water-filled ditch that Ridge Meadows RCMP has responded to in the last 24 hours.
