CPR performed on babysitter after the pool incident

A babysitter was found unresponsive in a pool and given CPR. The police in Newmarket are crediting a young girl who called 911 after her babysitter was found unresponsive in a backyard pool.

According to York Regional Police, members of Central York Fire Services were the first to arrive at home on Arnold Crescent. A firefighter dove into the pool and pulled the woman out. The firefighter performed CPR until the arrival of the paramedics.

According to an inspector with the York Regional Police, the child who called 911 tried to rescue the babysitter. It remains unclear how the woman entered the pool.
