On the rescue with CPR: Man collapses at finish line

A man running in the Cape Breton Fiddlers Run half-marathon was given CPR after he collapsed. The man collapsed around 10 feet away from the finish line.

The runner seemed to stumble and eventually collapsed to the ground. A doctor and other medical personnel present on the site quickly ran to the man who was in his 40s or 50s. They started to perform CPR on the man. Others also helped including another doctor. At least 3 people administered CPR before the breathing of the man was restored around 15 minutes later.

After a while, the Emergency Health Services paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the man to a healthcare facility by ambulance.

Several people in the crowd including fellow runners were concerned about the man and relieved that he was breathing again.
