Bystanders were quick to act after a man seemed to be drowning on the shores of the Okanagan Lake.
The police were called to the area shortly after 4 PM where a swimmer was pulled from the water by beachgoers at Kelowna City Park. The bystanders jumped into the water after a woman screamed that a man seemed to be drowning and needed help.
Several beachgoers located the adult male swimmer on the bottom of the lake and managed to pull him to the shore. The rescuers were joined by other members of the public who quickly started life-saving measures.
The emergency crews took over CPR and transported the man to a healthcare facility. While he was in a serious but stable condition at the time, the police stated that his condition worsened.
