The Mounties found the child unresponsive in the creek minutes after arriving and performed CPR.

The Mounties found the child unresponsive in the creek minutes after arriving and performed CPR until he could be airlifted to a healthcare facility, but it was too late. Authorities warn that creeks and rivers are swollen and fast-running due to heavy rainfall and must be avoided.

The North Vancouver RCMP is continuing to investigate but the case will be handed over to the BC Coroners Service.
