The danger in the road
Residents in the area heard a loud band and got in touch with the police. There was a power shortage when the Hydro pole was hit by the vehicle.
An officer was the first to arrive at the site of the incident. He jumped into the murky water where the vehicle was already submerged. He broke the window in the driver’s seat but could not find the driver.
The officer was forced to leave the vehicle due to the cold conditions. He was later receiving treatment for hypothermia.
The victim of the crash was discovered at the back seat when the vehicle was towed out of the river. CPR was quickly initiated, but the woman was declared dead in a hospital.
The investigating team is attempting to figure out the root cause of the ordeal in which the woman lost control of her vehicle.
