Another 20 million free non-medical face masks are made available to Albertans in an effort to encourage mask-wearing when physical distancing is not possible.
The province started the second batch of distribution on Monday. Previously in packages of four, Albertans can now pick up a set of eight masks for no charge at 700 restaurant locations across the province, including McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, and A&W. The masks are available at the counters and in drive-thrus.
The free non-medical masks will also be made available to municipalities and organizations that support vulnerable populations – including long-term care homes, senior facilities, social service organizations – as well as First Nations and Metis settlements, and courthouses and libraries.
