A young boy was given CPR by a Newfoundland woman. She was recognized as a hero after assisting in saving the life of a drowning boy while vacationing at a Florida resort.
Watery ordeal
Mary Lou Dill performed CPR to help save a six-year-old boy. Dill just arrived at a pool on her resort to meet her husband and friends when she walked into a commotion. Initially, she thought that a fight had broken out but she quickly realized that a woman was screaming for help while holding the lifeless body of a young boy.
After performing the first round of compressions, Dill’s police-officer husband found her, realized what was going on and came over to help check the vital signs. It was not until the fourth round of compressions when the boy responded.
They rolled the boy on his side and he started to come to and gain a bit color. His mother was at his head and was trying to get him to wake up. For Dill, it was overwhelming that the small lifeless body is now responding.
