A 3-vehicle accident occurred in front of the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre. The accident occurred before 8 PM at the intersection of Wakesiah Avenue and Third Street.
According to firefighters at the scene, a passenger in a Chevrolet Trailblazer was transported to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with unidentified injuries. The driver of the Civic was examined by the paramedics but did not sustain any injuries requiring first aid care based on the statement by a family member. The Civic was damaged in the crash while the Trailblazer was not drivable anymore but the third vehicle involved did not sustain any damage.
Dangers on the road
The firefighters did not know the direction in which the vehicles were heading that was involved in the crash.
The Nanaimo Fire Rescue, Nanaimo RCMP, and B.C. Ambulance Service were present at the scene. The intersection was sealed off until the crews cleared the scene.
The necessity of first aid training
During emergencies, it is best that you are knowledgeable about basic first aid skills. You must enroll in first aid and CPR course to be prepared. You never know when emergencies occur and where.
