Those who are living in Kingston are now required to wear face masks or face covering. The Health Unit for Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington announced that a public health order has been issued requiring a face mask to be worn inside any indoor public setting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For those selling face coverings, it is proving to be a sudden boom in business. For one business establishment, it shared that they would only have a few purchases but now there is a steady stream of residents waiting to buy masks.
The mandatory face mask order was issued after an outbreak at a nail salon in the city, causing hundreds of people to quarantine, just two weeks after Kingston and eastern Ontario entered stage 2 of Ontario’s COVID-19 economic reopening.
Some of the locations that will require people to wear face masks include grocery stores, retail stores, hair and nail salons as well as community centers, houses of worship and churches. Residents are also required to wear face masks on public transport and libraries.
