Man with gunshot wound receives first aid care

A man was transported to RCH after sustaining a gunshot wound. The Mission police, fire and ambulance personnel responded to a call at Philbert Street for reports on a male suffering from a gunshot wound shortly after 3 PM.

Shooting incident

The victim was transported via air ambulance which landed in Mission Secondary School’s playing field and to the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.

It remains uncertain whether the wound was self-inflicted or if the victim was targeted. The Mission RCMP could not provide a comment yet on the incident.
