According to Const. Ian MacDonald, the police received a call around 8:30 PM when residents reported gunshots fired in the 30700 block of Sandpiper Drive. The patrol officers searched the area and discovered shell casings on the road, but there was no proof that vehicles or houses were struck.
Abbotsford shooting
The police called regional hospitals to check if anyone arrived requiring emergency care. One hospital confirmed that a man just showed up with a gunshot wound to his leg. According to MacDonald, the victim does not reside in the area but lived in Abbotsford in the past and had a “negative contact” with police in the community. The victim is not cooperating with the police in providing information about the shooting, but the incident is believed to be part of the ongoing “Townline Hill” conflict.
