A U.K. man was given CPR after a mall accident. Sadly, the man succumbed to injuries sustained from an “accidental fall” at an East Vancouver mall.
The emergency crews were called to Kingsgate Mall on East Broadway near Kingsway around 1:30 AM and found a person in medical distress. The man was given CPR on the scene but later died in a hospital.
Officers have not publicly identified the man but stated that he was 24 and visiting the city from the U.K. He was only in Vancouver for less than 24 hours.
Initially, the police department stated that it was investigating the incident as a suspicious death, but later claimed that the death was an “unfortunate accident.” The investigators who worked with the BC Coroners Officer stated that it appears that his death was caused by a fall and was not criminal in nature.
