Jogger’s life saved by the timely rescue of firefighters with CPR

A jogger was saved with CPR after passing out in front of a fire station. A group of firefighters in Orleans was called by bystanders to help with a situation after seeing a jogger lose consciousness.

Lucky day

According to Captain Jim Armstrong, the crew members were alerted to the scene around 10:15 Am when a person banged on the fire station door at 500 Charlemagne Boulevard. They were informed that the man required medical attention outside.

Upon the arrivals of the firefighters, they found the man without a pulse. Another bystander was already performing CPR.

The firefighters grabbed the automated external defibrillator (AED) inside the station. The device was utilized to restart the heart of the man. The paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the man to a healthcare facility.
