A person was given CPR after a fire incident at a homeless shelter. The incident occurred in downtown Vancouver.
Unforeseen ordeal
A fire broke out in a fourth floor room at a former Quality Inn on Howe St. According to Vancouver Fire and Rescue assistant chief Joe Foster, the crews found a person in the room when the crews arrived.
CPR was started but the male victim succumbed to his injuries. Foster added that it is too early to tell how the fire started and it might involve a mattress of some kind. The name and age of the victim have not been released.
