Accidents on the road can occur without warning even if safety is strictly observed. In a recent accident involving a collision, it took 6 lives. A van transporting a family was northbound when it slammed with a southbound vehicle. After the crash, a fire started on both vehicles.
Devastating ordeal
In the accident, there were 6 fatalities. The van was carrying 5 family members from Louisiana and Texas which crashed with a southbound vehicle.
The four individuals in the second vehicle were killed while two of the Americans in the van were declared dead on the scene. Two other family members were transported to a healthcare facility while a 2-year-old child did not sustain any injuries.
Several motorists passing the site of the incident assisted in pulling out the people involved in the crash. Some were helping put out the flames that were spreading from the vehicles.
On the rescue
Some of the bystanders delivered CPR on some of the victims while others offered blankets and something to drink.
In a statement by STARS air ambulance, a 26-year old woman was transported in severe condition while another woman was in a stable condition.
The RCMP thanked everyone who helped in saving lives after the highway crash. It clearly shows the importance of life-saving measures. Prompt delivery can help improve the chances of survival.
The necessity of first aid training
