CPR given to grandmother and child found in Oakville pool

A 79-year old woman and her 4-year old granddaughter received CPR. They are in critical condition after found face-down in a backyard pool in Oakville.

According to Halton police, officers were called to a residence on Yarmouth Crescent shortly after noon.

A neighbor had pulled the elderly woman out of the in-ground swimming pool while the child was pulled out by her mother. The police stated that the emergency crews delivered CPR on the grandmother but she was declared dead at the scene.

The girl regained consciousness before the arrival of the police and was rushed to McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton in critical condition. The investigators stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
