Coronavirus has infected almost 10,000

According to WHO, most patients have mild cases with only 20% suffering severe symptoms. The new type of coronavirus has now infected almost 10,000 people globally including three in Canada. It has pushed the WHO to declare the COVID-19 outbreak as a global health emergency.

The WHO decided that the epidemic is a public health emergency of international concern. China released fresh data indicating that more than 9,600 confirmed cases of the virus have killed 213 people in the country.

The UN agency stated that most people who acquire the illness had milder cases while only 20% end up with severe symptoms. According to Canadian officials, the country is already taking the right steps to prevent the spread, adding that the risk remains low.
