The Montreal Canadiens’ seasons seems to a serious of unfortunate events. It started to turn bad months ago with the injury to a star goalie Carey Pricethat. The latest incident involves an infant who was rushed to a hospital after being hit in the head by a souvenir puck at the team’s yearly public practice at the Bell Centre.
According to the mother of the 1-month old Beatrice Meloche, the puck was evidently tossed into the stands by the crowd favorite, P.K. Subban. Later, the players took the time to throw pucks at the young fans.
Struck by a puck
Sadly, one of the fans who caught a puck thrown by P.K. Subban was only a month old. The infant sustained a concussion and there were reports that the child was given CPR on site. The child stayed the night under observation at the Montreal Children’s Hospital but released on Monday.
According to Even though it is a custom for the Canadiens players to throw pucks and other souvenirs into the crowd after the yearly Provigo practice, the Canadiens players and club officials were not aware of the incident until Monday.
Subban was relieved to know that the baby was released from the healthcare facility. P.K. felt terrible but had no idea. He felt terrible at first and later felt happy that everything was good.
