Alberta has set a record for newly reported COVID-19 infections a second time in a row. According to the chief medical officer of health of Alberta, the situation of Alberta is grim where there are 1,155 new cases of COVID-19, following 1,105 infections the previous day.
The province also reported 11 new deaths from the virus, bringing its toll in Alberta to 462. More than a quarter of those deaths have come since the start of November.
Hospitalizations also rose to 9% from Thursday with 310 Albertans now in hospital with COVID-19, 58 of whom are in intensive-care units.
Despite the torrent of new cases, any new public-health measures to help the province stem the rise of infections were not announced.
No decisions have yet been made, but the scenario is under close monitoring.
