One of the safety measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 is to wear a mask at all times, especially when outdoors. A top doctor in Ottawa urges people to don masks even when outside. By following this safety protocol, it will help lessen the spread of the coronavirus.
It is recommended to wear a mask every time you are outside your house. The reason is the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in the community.
In an announcement by the Medical Officer of Health, it set limits to the maximum number of 25 individuals allowed in outdoor skating rinks. In other amenities such as toboggan hills, parking lots, and trailheads, the limit is also 25 people.
The city also announced the mandatory use of masks in areas around outdoor skating rinks. However, you do not have to wear one while skating.
In the latest record, Ottawa has the highest number of COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
Face masks or coverings are required in all indoor public places and workplaces in Ottawa as well as in common areas at apartment and condominium buildings. The Ottawa Public Health strongly recommends wearing a mask if it is impossible to maintain physical distancing.
