The man killed in the latest homicide in the city at a downtown auto body repair shop has been identified as the business owner.
According to a nearby business owner Ambesager Belay of CarProof Auto Repair, Ahmed Ahmed, 39-years old was gunned down inside his Aftermath Autohaus Inc. business around 9:20 AM.
Commercial ordeal
The police responding to the gun call searched both Aftermath Autohaus at 9648 105A Ave. and CarProof Auto Repair which were in the same building.
The emergency team performed CPR on Ahmed outside the Aftermath Autohaus garage bay door according to a witness. The victim was later rushed to a healthcare facility with a police escort.
In the hours that follow the shooting, around 2 PM, the police declared Ahmed dead from his injuries in the hospital.
There were 2 police cruisers outside the taped-off businesses Wednesday afternoon as homicide detectives continue with the investigation. Due to the police investigation, Belay said he did not have access to his business but expected to start operations again on Wednesday evening.
