For veteran West Vancouver realtor Malcolm Hasman, he is used to encouraging potential clients to sell their homes, but everything has changed since COVID-19.
Hasman shared that if they do not have to sell, stay on the side of caution, and waited. He is not listing homes where families are living in that house.
There is an exception – vacant houses such as a brand-new build that he listed in the British Properties neighborhood. It is not occupied so there is no contamination or anything, no family coming back to the house after it has been shown.
He still takes the necessary precautions. He opens all the doors and turns on the lights, so potential buyers and their agents don’t have to. He also asks them to sign a waiver stating that they do not have any symptoms, staying a safe distance apart from each other, and will not touch anything in the house.
