A man is in a hospital in critical condition after being pulled from a vehicle that was submerged in a water-filled ditch.
The two-car accident occurred at 168th street and Highway 10 shortly before 9:30 PM. The collision sent a white sedan into a water-filled ditch. A person was removed from the vehicle in around 6 feet of water. The person received CPR and has been transported to Royal Columbian Hospital by BC Ambulance.
The two members from the water rescue team went into the ditch, hooked up the vehicle and tow trucks pulled the vehicle out. They were also looking for other people who may have ended up in the water. The ditch may be filled up to 6 feet of water and some areas might be deeper.
Since the vehicle was submerged, it was a tricky situation. The extrication occurred and the person is being cared for in a healthcare facility at this time.
