STARS, paramedics dispatched to serious crash in Chestermere

The emergency crews are at the site of a crash in Chestermere that left one individual with serious injuries. There were 3 patients who were transported to a healthcare facility while Highway 1 going eastbound was shut down.

Tragic road accident

The paramedics were called to the scene on Highway 1 and Highway 791. There were 3 vehicles involved in the crash. A STARs air ambulance was dispatched to the scene.

The man was stabilized by crews with first aid measures on the ground and transported by air to Foothills Medical Centre in a serious, potentially dangerous condition.

At the site, one man had to be extracted from his vehicle with suspected internal injuries. The man was stabilized by crews with first aid measures on the ground and transported by air to Foothills Medical Centre in a serious, potentially dangerous condition.

A female in her mid-teens who was with a male in the vehicle was transported to Foothills. She was in a stable condition with a non-life-threatening condition.

An adult female who sustained minor injuries was transported to Peter Lougheed Centre in a stable condition. Two others who were involved in the crash did not sustain any damage.

Highway 1 was closed for another 2-3 hours. The traffic was currently diverted onto Highway 791 going southbound.
