Man stabbed near Vancouver Art Gallery

According to the police, the incident is not a random event. A 21-year old Surrey man was stabbed in Vancouver.

The Vancouver Police Department received a 911 call regarding a stabbing incident on the Robson Street side of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Upon arrival, they found a man with a serious stab wound.

The VPD officers administered first aid measures until the arrival of the paramedics. He was transported to a healthcare facility with serious but non-life threating injuries. The police believe that the victim and a friend met the suspect on the stairs of the art gallery. A possible altercation ensued which ended with the stabbing.

The VPD located a person of interest in the area. He was later identified and released pending further investigation. The officers from the Forensic Unit of VPD processed the area for any evidence and the investigation continues.
