The Thunder Bay police pulled an unconscious man from one of the waterways that cut through the city which is known to some as the “river of tears”.
According to an emergency response official, a report came in about an individual in the McIntyre River around 8:18 PM. The Thunder Bay police officers were first on the scene to pull out the man, still alive from the water. The officers were the first to perform first aid and CPR to the man.
Water rescue
Upon the arrival of the paramedics, they conducted CPR on the man since his heartbeat was fading. In a short while, the man was transported to a healthcare facility.
A Thunder Bay police forensics van was also initially on the scene and then moved across the river bank from where the man was pulled out of the water. Around 10:30 PM, the forensics van was still there. The police have not yet given any feedback on the situation.
The Thunder Bay police pulled the body of Dylan Joe Francis Moonias, 21-years old upstream on the McIntyre this past Saturday afternoon. The investigators are still determining the cause of Moonia’s death.
