Teen saved the life of her father during a heart attack

A 14-year old girl was recognized for her quick efforts in helping her father. The girl performed the life-saving procedure when her father collapsed from cardiac arrest after returning from a jog. She quickly called 911 while her mother and sister performed CPR.

Unexpected ordeal

According to the teen, it was her first time to call 911. Everything that she has learned about it as a kid went out of the window due to fear but she is thankful that her father is alive.

As her mother performed CPR on her father, instructions were being relayed from the dispatcher. They continue with the life-saving procedure until the arrival of the paramedics and firefighters.

The emergency responders defibrillated her father twice to restore a normal heartbeat. Tony, the father suffered a heart attack which caused his heart to stop beating normally.

When his pulse was restored, he was transported to a healthcare facility where a stent was introduced in his chest to open up the blocked blood vessel in his heart.
