Passersby resuscitate a man struck by a semi-trailer

Two passersby resuscitate a man who was hit by a truck in Pitt Meadows. The passersby heard the impact of the crash as they were driving home to Abbotsford along the Lougheed Highway. They quickly pulled over and ran to the prone man who was not breathing.

The two attempted CPR on the man after another passerby called 911. They were coached over the phone. The man started to cough and show signs of life after several minutes of performing CPR. The paramedics soon arrived and transported the man to a healthcare facility.

Based on a release, the Ridge Meadows RCMP stated that a witness saw the man step into the eastbound lane of the highway near Harris Road to hail a taxi when he was hit but a five-ton box truck.
