CPR performed on shooting victim

A man performed CPR on a victim of a deadly shooting incident. Along with neighbors, he attempted to ease the pain of the main before the arrival of the emergency crews.

Shooting ordeal

The police received a call to a housing complex in the Rundle Heights neighborhood after residents reported hearing a fight. They found a man in a state of distress who died despite the resuscitation attempts. The investigators identified the man as 32-year old Clinton Roderick Roasting.

A man who lives nearby was watching a movie with his common-law partner when he heard an argument followed by a gunshot. He ran out and shouted for someone to call an ambulance. A neighbor nearby emerged with medical supplies.

The man was lying on a sidewalk between 2 townhouses near 116A Avenue and 32 Street and performed CPR for 8-10 minutes before the victim passed away. The victim who was in shock from a bullet wound to the neck tried to fight off before realizing the bystanders were there to help. Another man supported the head of the victim while a woman who lives nearby checked his pulse and held his hand.

After 10 minutes, the police and ambulance arrived, the man was later pronounced dead on the scene.
