The life-saving measure failed to resuscitate the angler after falling into the river

An angler who fell into the river while fishing passed away despite the delivery of CPR. The emergency crews responded to calls of up to two people in the water near Graves Bridge in the southeast.

Watery ordeal

Based on the initial reports, a man who was fishing witnessed another man who was also fishing nearby fall into the water and could not get himself up and out.

The man was carried away by the current. The angler who witnessed this quickly went into the river after the submerged man, swam to him and pulled him onto the shore, and initiated CPR.

Upon the arrival of the fire crews, they took over with the resuscitation efforts, and the man was transported to a healthcare facility. It remains unknown how the man ended up submerged in the water.
