A pair of teenage girls helped save the life of a man in cardiac arrest. Brooklyn Rogers and Chloe Cuff along with the parents were presented with the Rescuer Awards as recognition for their efforts in assisting John MacSween in the winter of 2016.
In March 2016, Rogers and Cuff who were both 13-years old were stepping off the school bus when Cuff spotted MacSween lying motionless in a snowbank. She called Rogers to help her.
Timely effort in saving a life
Cuff remained with MacSween as Rogers when to get her parents who returned to the scene, called for emergency assistance, and delivered CPR until the arrival of the paramedics.
The awards were given to non-professional rescuers or off-duty first responders whose actions save a life, prevent further injury, and/or give comfort to those who are injured.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a life-saving skill that can save a life. It is recommended to enroll in a first aid course to be prepared in case of emergencies.
