Individuals with a bacterial infection of the skin, ear, lungs, sinuses or urinary tract can be treated with Augmentin. This is a prescribed drug that contains 2 active components – amoxicillin and clauvulanate potassium.
Those who are highly sensitive to any form of cephalosporin antibiotics or penicillin must not use this drug due to the potential for ending up with allergy symptoms. Remember that the allergy symptoms can be dangerous and requires emergency care.
Individuals who are highly sensitive to Augmentin might develop a severe allergic reaction or anaphylaxis right after a dose of the drug. Hypersensitive individuals might notice the appearance of swollen, reddened welts known as hives throughout the body. The skin condition can cause discomfort and might become significantly itchy.
Oral or facial swelling

As an outcome, highly sensitive individuals might develop cough or wheezing. The breathing issues can also contribute to dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting among those who are allergic to Augmentin.
After a dose of Augmentin, highly sensitive individuals can suffer from nausea and vomiting as the symptoms. Some individuals might also have diarrhea that might contribute to the stomach cramps or bloating.
Anxiety or confusion
Individuals who are allergic to Augmentin might appear unusually confused or anxious after using a dose of the drug. The symptoms generally occur along with alternate anaphylaxis symptoms such as dizziness or difficulty breathing.
